Singer-songwriter Bentley Robles is set to release his five-song debut EP OVERDRAMATIC this February 7th! This release is accompanied with a show in New York City’s Bowery Electric.
Bentley Robles is a LA born Queer-Latino singer/songwriter who focuses on alternative-pop music that is unapologetically him. The four unreleased tracks “The A List,” “WOW,” “You Yourself,” and “Petals” come together to create a distinct, fun sound Bentley Robles has worked tirelessly to create.
His latest release “Hellboy” is the only song available at the moment off of OVERDRAMATIC. “I had the lyric “Have you ever heard of hell boy? You should go to it.” In my phone for months before I finally wrote this song,” Robles mentioned in an Instagram post.
The music video shows him performing in a vacant room with just the use of a microphone. He wears just a jacket with the word “Hellboy” in the back as he continues to shine with the different colors changing in the background. There’s a second human figure coming from the side with a mask on disguised as the “hellboy” out to ruin his life.
Robles sings to him as he scuffles around with his emotions for this faceless person. Watch the video down below and let us know your thoughts!
“The A List” brings vibes from Lady Gaga’s earlier sound, with electronic beats you won’t be able to get out of your head. As a standout track on OVERDRAMATIC, “The A List” lifts our mood with just one listen.
“WOW” speaks about a fascinating guy who he wants to be with forever. Robles is amazed that one person can make him feel this way and its a feeling he doesn’t want to ever go away. With catchy lyrics, powerful hooks and stripped instrumentation, he definitely leaves a lasting impression with this single.
“You Yourself” is a feel-good track about taking back your life from people who are simply exhausting and focusing on you. The changing tempos makes this a fun track to sing along to.
“Petals” discusses those emotions about feeling like we must be different in order for others to love us. As soon as his petals started to fall off, he realized he’s incredible the way he is and doesn’t need to change anything about himself. Listen to this powerful, confident track to give you a boost in the mornings.
Stay tuned for the release of OVERDRAMATIC, you won’t want to miss it! The EP is currently available for pre-order!
