With Hope, faith, and courage, Cynthia Angelica, in collaboration with award-winning producer Dave Mallen surmounts fear with “Grace.”
Cynthia Angelica is a Maryland-based singer/artist. The spiritual pop artist has announced the release date of her debut single, the theme song of her 10-track music album, ‘Fears and Dreams.’ The vehement lyrics and rhythmic tunes powered by the euphonious voice of Cynthia, ‘Grace,’ addresses what it means to live consciously in an ambiguous world and how to transform fear into a good, motivating feeling in the process
Grace traverses the interface between heart and mind above and beyond what meets the eye and ears. ‘These are dark, uncertain times in our world, and we carry such weight emotionally because of it. ‘Grace’ is about facing fear with faith and tapping into the strength we didn’t realize we had, the spiritual pop artist shared. Produced by Dave Mallen of WAMMIE award-winning studio Innovation Station Music, ‘Fears and Dreams’ delves into the complex equation of faith and fear in the backdrop of the world’s dark and uncertain times.
‘Grace’ was one of the first songs I penned for the album, and it’s special because it is a co-write with my brother Kevin who envisioned the signature orchestral sound that informs my entire project,’ Cynthia continued as she couldn’t contain her excitement for July 22nd, 2022. She has found the most beautiful form of expression in music, fascinated by language, since childhood. She continued to explore how minor adjustments in diction, loudness, stress, and context may produce drastically different meanings.
Cynthia Angelica is rediscovering herself through music after a more than decade-long career as an executive ghostwriter, ‘Fears and Dreams is the first time her voice is her own – with no strings attached,’ she added. Cynthia’s journey is a ray of hope for many; she has supported the award-winning media platform Alchemical Records and the greater D.C., Maryland, and Virginia music scene for a long time.
Growing up in a small town, away from the chaos of city life, Cynthia’s first encounter with music was in a Black church where the little girl first experienced the atmosphere-changing power of music, noting gospel performers Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin, and CeCe Winans as early influences. Her influences grew to include performers from many genres, such as Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Sade, and Kim Walker-Smith.
‘There can be no victory without a battle, without a fight. And often, the biggest fight is the one that lies within. The underlying question we grapple with daily is ‘are we going to make it?’ It’s increasingly difficult to know the answer, but we can have confidence in knowing that there is promise in the process,’ Cynthia concluded.
