Gabrielle DeRosa Reveals Exclusive New Single “Everything I Know”

Gabrielle DeRosa announces the exclusive release of her debut single “Everything I Know”! Her hope for a positive, happier world is shown through the selected scenes:

Thank you for speaking with us! What inspired you to start releasing your own music?

I decided to become an independent singer-songwriter at 19 years old, with the release of my first official album “We Believe” in 2018. Art is easy for me, I am passionate about this job, and it is valuable for other people too: this is why I started and this is why I continue to do it. It feels good, for myself and for the society.

Your debut single “Everything I Know” will be available soon. How do you hope listeners feel when they listen to this song?

I hope they enjoy the music, but most of all, I hope they feel special, unique, beautiful and strong, and I hope it will be a reminder of how much they matter for me and for the world. I want them to feel valuable, strong, confident, important and perfect just as they are. Everyone deserves to be loved, nothing is impossible. They are the key to live the life they dream about, they just have to live it: I hope they will feel this listening to my song.

What can you tell us about this release?

I wrote this song to give a message of hope to everyone, but I wanted to underline how art can be universal and personal at the same time… so I made a video with a message for each one of you, dedicated to you, and I called it a message “for your eyes only” because it will be personal, direct and peculiar even if everyone will get the same message it will mean something different for each one of you. And that is the magic of art. I want you to feel special and worthy and beautiful and strong in your own unique way. If you want to read my message for you, watch (and read) the video until the very end.

Do you go to one specific place when you start writing your music? How important is the location where you write your lyrics for you?

I just prefer to be alone, to have my space, possibly in a quiet environment. The ideal space where you can easily focus. It has to be a nice experience. I become so focused that I get lost into it and time goes by quickly.

Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far and how?

If I have to choose just one person, I would say Jesus. On a daily basis, many characters, fictional and real. I tend to get a big impact very often because I like to reflect and observe and associate things in my mind.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be?

When they ask me this question, there are so many people I would like to collaborate with but they’re almost all dead. I can finally tell their names: Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson, Jimmie Rodgers, Alberto Rabagliati, Fred Buscaglione, Domenico Modugno, and others. For the living: Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Josh Turner, Paolo Buonvino, Audiomachine, Coldplay, Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga, and others.

How did you first discover your musical sound?

I did not discover it one day, it was more like an evolution. I am very creative, and I have proof I have dictated my first poem to my mother when I was 3 or 4 years old. I was told that I liked to sing when I was a baby. So, my sound already existed, but it evolved with me and my personality growing up. It continues to evolve, but I feel in the right place now.

Which song of yours has ever made you feel like “this is the one” in regards to how many people it has reached, its effect on listeners or your inner feelings of it reaching a certain level of success?

Probably, “We Believe”. However, I feel the same about this one. I always have that feeling for the next song, and it goes better and better.

What can fans expect from you this year?

It is difficult to say due to the pandemic situation with Covid-19. For sure, new “online content” such as new music, new interviews, new articles, new exclusive content, and collaborations with other artists. I’ve just launched my official merchandise line on teespring.com and I have recorded my first rap song featuring GioD. There will be other news very soon.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Is there anything else you would like to add?

I love to create my artworks, my ads, and my official website is personally developed by myself. I could be a designer, a dancer, a life coach, a chef, or a full time scientist (I already study Environmental Science and Technology). Yes, it was hard to choose one. I chose three, and thanks to my other skills I am going on as an independent artist without spending money for artworks or website development. I do most of the things that I can do by myself, but I accept help where it is needed: for example, mix and mastering, other musicians, collaborators, other types of music videos, etc… but I could do everything on my own if I wanted to, so I would just choose one or more of the other things I love doing behind the scenes. However, I do have a team now, for my official fan page The 13 Cycle and promotional projects. I love to work with them, and I would work with them even without making music.
