Indie duo I WANT POETRY emerges with their newest single “Growing Pains,” released on February 21. Together, they push the boundaries of imagination with visuals, Ambient elements, and encouraging lyricism that says “turn your dreams into a reality.”
In an Instagram post, I WANT POETRY described the single as: “We all feel that need to grow, and we struggle against the nostalgia, the want for belonging and comfort that tries to hold us back. But our dreams are out there, beyond the egg shell that keeps us safe but also keeps us small.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️ G R O W I N G P A I N S ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌱🌱🌱 It’s here, it’s out! We are SO excited to finally share this song with you – link in bio! 🌱🌱🌱❤️ We all feel that need to grow, and we struggle against the nostalgia, the want for belonging and comfort that tries to hold us back. But our dreams are out there, beyond the egg shell that keeps us safe but also keeps us small. Oh how we have had to grow these past few years! And while there’s still so much to reach for, there’s such joy in being here, right now, with you all and together watch this song take flight. 🙏 Endless thanks go out to everyone who joined us on this particular adventure: to our producer Micha, our friends and fellow musicians 🎻 Christoph, 🎻 Filipp and 🥁 Johannes, to the skilled engineers 🎧 at @castlestudiosde, Peter, Andrea and Arno, to Kieron for a gorgeous mix, Simon Gibson at @abbeyroadstudios for the mastering, Eli for the magnificent photos, and to 👏 @ohmymusicpublisher and @recordjet for being awesome. . . . #newsong #growingpains #thankyou #spotify #listentothis #newmusic #newsingle #musiclovers #thankful #releaseday #newrelease #growth #naturelove #popmusic #indiemusic #indie #newmusicfriday #indiepop #newmusicalert #lovenature #reachforthesky #grow #hands #clouds #blackandwhite #weather #monochrome #piano #pianist #emotionalmusic
“While there’s still so much to reach for, there’s such joy in being here, right now, with you all and together watch this song take flight,” they continue.
The sultry, soothing vocals in “Growing Pains” come at us in an instant as the woman in black pops against the hues of pale colors. Each instrument, including what sounds like a xylophone, takes its seconds of glory while infusing its listeners with sounds perfect for a night of relaxation or while taking a calming drive.
Find yourself lost in a mesmerizing dance performance and modern Indie Pop found throughout “Growing Pains.” It’s definitely worth more than one listen.
The duo is currently touring across Germany hanging out with fans and sharing their love for music. If you’re interested in seeing them perform live (which you should!), the tour ends this upcoming November. Check here for tickets in locations near you!
