Ontario based artist Paige Rutledge praises sacrifices made in life to bring her closer to her dreams. Check out our interview:
Thank you for being with us! Where are you based and where would you say your fan base is?
I am from Oakville, Ontario so majority of my fans are based in Ontario and throughout Canada. The goal is definitely to reach some new people across Canada and into the United States.
What would you never apologize for?
I always try to be myself. I’m very loud, outgoing and have a lot of energy.
Who is your HERO and what does a HERO mean to you?
My parents are my heroes. They have sacrificed a lot to give me the best opportunities that I could have had and I am so thankful for them everyday. They are the most supportive people and I wouldn’t be where I am without them.
What exotic location would you most like to visit or perform when COVID is finally over?
A little less exotic would be Nashville. I’ve never been to Nashville and as a country girl, the big dream is to get there one day. An exotic place I would love to go play is a Australia. My latest single, Without Me, has gotten air time on country radio in Australia so I would love to go south that way and learn more about the country scene in Australia.
How do you juggle the day job and the dream career, or are they one and the same?
During the day, I teach kids music lessons hoping to develop the same passion in them that I have for music. I feel that this really helps me remember why I love music so much when I can see it in them. It all feels like it fits together because my days are just constantly full of music.
