Matilda Lindell joins us once again to bring us more detail into what she hopes for the rest of the year! Learn more down below:
Thank you for being with us! Where are you based and where would you say your fan base is?
Thanks for having me! I am based in New York City, but born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. My fan base is mostly in the US since I’ve been touring here for many years with the tribute act “ABBA THE CONCERT”. Luckily, some of the audience looked me up after seeing me perform live and found my music. So, I want to say, thanks for doing that! 🙂
What would you never apologize for?
Standing up for myself or having an opinion. As many others, especially women, I have apologised too much and made myself small to not rock the boat and to take care of other people’s feelings. But what a disservice to yourself and also then, people think they can run you over. But no – you can’t run over me 🙂
Who is your HERO and what does a HERO mean to you?
I want to say I have several! I admire when people are brave, true to themselves and accomplish things (big or small) along the way. My friends who are always there for me are my heroes. My mom is a hero for handling three crazy kids, having a great career, and held it together through all the loss and pain that life sometimes brings. My musical hero would be Sara Bareilles who I feel is brave by being real and shows it trough her music – she effects me. And she is just so talented and has accomplished so much that I would go over fire for! 🙂 My fans are my heroes, they make me keep going! I know, that was a lot of heroes, haha.
What exotic location would you most like to visit or perform when COVID is finally over?
I have always wanted to go to Australia and New Zealand. Scuba diving is amazing and it seems to be countries full of adventures. And of course I would love to perform there too if I could!
How do you juggle the day job and the dream career, or are they one and the same?
It’s sort of one and the same! I do want to focus more on my own music and the solo artist career path. And I want to write and create more music in general, it doesn’t have to be for me. But I am performing a lot and teaching voice, which I love. So I am pretty happy 🙂
