Thanks for speaking with us! How’s everything going?
Thanks for having us, we’re doing great!
How would you describe your sound to someone who just listened to your music for the first time?
We’re a psych/surf band with high energy, consuming funk and prog-rock instincts. We incorporate different many genres but you can always expect suave bass lines, passionate vocals and catchy riffs.
Please tell us more about your new single release. How did this come together?
We were listening to The Doors a lot at the time we wrote this song. We’ve always been fans of their avant-garde writing style. We wanted to take that same hypnotic feeling and speed it up a little bit.
What’s the inspiration behind the single “She Don’t Mean To”?
It’s about falling for the wrong person. You have this strong connection with them but they treat you awfully. Very much like a succubus. She keeps you under her spell and only uses you when she needs you.
How do you hope listeners feel when they listen to these songs?
We hope they feel like dancing around the room!
What’s the first thing you do when you begin creating a new song?
We tend to create then jam on riffs, beats, lyrics or concepts for months before they ever actually become real songs. We have a lot of ideas. The best ones always stick around. We don’t really write anything down. If we can’t remember it from memory, it’s not catchy enough.
Do you remember the first time you performed live for a crowd? What was that moment like for you?
Our first performance was at Rock n Roll Pizza in Moorpark, California, for an open mic night. Moorpark has an insane amount of talent and this pizza joint was the only meetup spot for artists. Most of the acts that night were acoustic singer-songwriters or comedians. We were afraid our loud psych rock sound was going to be too much for them. We rocked and they loved it. Some drunk old dude bought us beer and pizza for the rest of the night. That was success at its finest!
Tell us where fans can connect with you and get the new music!
